Backyard

Here's our mostly-finished back yard. We are waiting for the sod to grow a bit more before we mow, that's why it looks uneven and slightly overgrown.

During the planting process, someone dumped the whole packet of lettuce seeds in one row - about 10 per square inch - and now we have a bunch of lettuce growing in one spot. It's that row of prominent growth. Do we need to thin that out??

The first year we gardened at this house, the mosquitoes were making it unbearably challenging. Bob was in charge of the lettuce. The resulting growth was random and more a carpet of lettuce. Passers by wondered what kind of lettuce we were growing. Kentucky Leaf.

Looks beautiful - the kids can't wait to come over and play! I'd leave the lettuce - at least you know something will grow this year! And, tell the truth, was it you? Did you see a worm and throw the package?
