The Garden of Music

A couple of nights ago we went to the kids' spring choir concert. This isn't a school choir, this is a community choir that we've been involved with for 8 years or so. The choir director is very good, although a big scary. Anyway there were two highlights:

- this is Coleman's last time (his voice has changed and now he's a tenor but the choir is only soprano and alto). It's too bad because it is always a good time to see Coleman have to do the goofy hand actions and dance moves on some of the songs. It's worth every penny I pay to see Coleman shaking his hips and flashing some jazz hands. Priceless.

- my friend Barb has two girls in the choir. Her youngest, Chloe, was really the star of the show. She was placed front and centre in the junior choir, and she didn't care if the song had actions or not. She danced her way through the entire concert. And if she wasn't swaying to the music, she was SO fidgetty. She kept my attention the whole night. Oh - and although it looked like she sang every word, she never once put her eyes on the conductor. She was too busy looking around at the parents, the ceiling, the rest of the choir...whatever. Thanks Chloe for making the night a comedy!

It's really too bad I forgot my video camera.
(Every time she looked my way I gave my head a firm shake, but to no avail.)

That's hilarious. Show choir is the best because of the wacky choreography. My favorites are jazz hands and side claps.

Yes, Chloe was the best. And there were side claps. It was really funny to see her go from tired and emotionless to bright-eyed and almost sarcastically interested when the hand claps where on.
